The Universal Pole Barer (UPB) is aerial installation hardware supplied by NETONIT TECH LTD for use on overhead fibre routes. It is fitted to the pole and provides the mounting point from which aerial fibre cable is supported and anchored, so that the cable load is carried by the pole hardware rather than by the cable itself. Hardware of this kind is used throughout ADSS and aerial FTTH deployments, at suspension positions, dead-end positions and route corners. Correct pole hardware is important for keeping span tension under control and preventing long-term fibre damage. It is normally ordered together with tension clamps, closures and aerial cable, all of which are also available from NETONIT TECH LTD. Quantities are worked out from the pole count and route design.
