An Optical Network Unit (ONU) is the subscriber-side device of a passive optical network. It terminates the incoming fibre drop and hands the connection over to the local network, either directly to a device or through a router, and it is managed from the OLT at the operator end. ONUs are installed in homes, offices, apartment blocks and business premises as the final active element of an FTTH or FTTB link. They are normally deployed together with fibre access terminals, splitters and drop cable, all of which are also available from NETONIT TECH LTD.
